Lore & Fraser’s September Wedding at Hunton Park Hotel

September weddings have a little bit of magic about them. The days are still warm, the evenings start to feel softer, and there’s that beautiful feeling that summer is slowly turning into autumn. It was the perfect backdrop for Lore and Fraser’s wedding at Hunton Park Hotel. Their day was full of all the things I love about weddings, happy tears, laughter, beautiful little moments and plenty of time spent with the people they love most.

A September wedding at Hunton Park Hotel

Hunton Park Hotel is such a beautiful setting for a wedding, with its historic surroundings, gardens and elegant spaces providing plenty of opportunities for photographs throughout the day. But as much as I love a beautiful venue, it’s always the people and the moments happening within it that make a wedding gallery. And Lore and Fraser gave me plenty to photograph. From the excitement at the beginning of the day through to the celebrations later on, there was such a lovely sense of happiness and anticipation.

Photographing Lore & Fraser naturally

My favourite way to photograph a wedding is to let things unfold naturally. I want my couples to spend as little time as possible worrying about the camera and as much time as possible enjoying their wedding day. For Lore and Fraser, that meant capturing the moments as they happened, the glances, the laughter, the hugs and all those little interactions that can be so easily missed. Of course, we made time for some beautiful portraits too, but I always want these to feel relaxed and natural rather than overly posed. The aim is never to turn your wedding day into a photoshoot. It's to give you a gallery that feels like you.

The little moments

Some of my favourite wedding photographs are the ones that happen in between. A quick look. A squeeze of the hand. Someone laughing in the background. The movement of a dress. A moment of quiet before the next part of the day begins. These little moments might only last for a second, but they can become some of the photographs you treasure most. They're the images that take you straight back to how the day felt.

The beauty of a September wedding

There’s something particularly lovely about photographing a wedding in September. The light can be gorgeous and soft, and there’s often a slightly different atmosphere compared with the height of summer. There’s still warmth and brightness, but with the first hints of autumn beginning to appear. At Hunton Park Hotel, this meant having beautiful surroundings to work with throughout the day, from the gardens to the elegant interiors. It gave Lore and Fraser's wedding gallery lots of variety while still keeping everything feeling cohesive and timeless.

A day full of memories

What I love most about wedding photography is knowing that these photographs will become part of a couple's family history. Years from now, Lore and Fraser won't just be able to look back and remember what they wore or what the venue looked like. They'll be able to see the people who were there. The emotions. The laughter. The little moments they didn't even realise were happening. That's what I'm always looking for when I'm photographing a wedding. Not just the big, obvious moments, but everything in between. Because when the day is over and the flowers have gone, the cake has been eaten and the music has stopped, your photographs are what bring you back.
